If you read the Toronto Star this morning the feature in Business section mentions the top 10 neighbourhoods for first time buyers!  By value we look for neighbourhoods that offer under $400,000 for either detached, semi-detached or condos. 

Some of the important criteria determining this popularity are proximity to public transit, shopping and parks. And a true sense of a neighbourhood feel.

 The Leslie and Finch area of North York is considered #1 its still in the 416 area code! The defined area is Steeles Ave on the north, Leslie St to the east, Finch Ave. on the south and Pineway Blvd. on the west.

The next 2 best are condo markets but include Yonge and Finch area and the very cool St. Lawrence Market area and one of my favourite areas Liberty Village.

In the West areas they include The Village of Islington, Alderwood, Eglinton-Central Parkway (our Mississauga Real Estate!) and Churchill Meadows.

The Durham Region to the east included Rouge Hill and Lakeside Ajax which I honestly am not really familiar with but are situated close to the Lake Ontario.
