It is a new year with many changes and updates for Port Credit's growth! The Post Office at Lakeshore and Stavebank has been sold to Centre City Capital Ltd. This is the same company who owns the Waterside Inn, they had hoped to compliment the Watersides' location for banquet and conference facilities as it is located just across the street. It is also known the owner would prefer to add some mixed uses of commercial/retail main floor and offices on the second storey of the building. The Heritage impact would consider the North East corner of the buildings walls to remain in tact. The new owner is to provide to the City of Mississauga a Heritage Impact Study by March 22, 2011 before any changes can happen so the city is able to property designate its historical position. The former Admiral Building at 501 Lakeshore Road East (just west of Cawthra) has proposed a WalMart be the anchor tenant to a mixed use community on the property, a combination of Retail, and high rise condominium. The Property would allow for entry access off Enola to take pressure off Lakeshore being the only access into the facility. The local residents are not in favour of big box retail, no formal application has been submitted to the City of Mississauga as of yet. The Pioneer Gas Station at 150 Lakeshore Rd E, at Hurontario will be going through a major renovation this year. The plans include added parking, a new convenience store, upgraded and repositioned car wash, removal of the propane tank, and a new commercial/retail structure along the sidewalk facing Lakeshore. This building will appear to have 2 stories in hieght and red brick to compliment the work live townhomes across the street. But in fact is a one story structure with high ceilings, it is rumored the ideal tenant would be Tim Hortons as is it zoned for fast food, convenience and no liquor license, and to also include an outdoor patio area. The Rosewood Park to complete spring 2011. This is the new outdoor pool/splashpad and community centre located on the corner of Rosewood and Park St in Port Credit. The $6million renovation will debut this spring! Fram has proposed a new 17-22 storey condomimium tower at the corner of High and Ann Street just north of the Skinner Middlebrook Funeral Home in Port Credit. LRT Expansion along Hurontario from Brampton to Port St to commence soon! In the City of Mississauga Master Plan for Transit, the city will include a LRT along the corridor to improve connectivity from the city centre to the lake front in Port Credit. Port Credit GO Station to add a 2 storey parking facility soon! This will help to accommodate the higher density we are experiencing in Port Credit! The Port Credit Arena and Library to open this Spring! With all these exciting changes to take place this coming year, expect the Port Credit Real Estate Values to keep on improving! As we continue to be a community that upgrades our facilites, and access to the waterfront, we continue to offer newcomers a wonderful place to live! |

"Donna Gray was extremely helpful with the purchase of my dream home. She did an outstanding job on a very difficult assignment with me - a picky buyer, and a stubborn, emotional seller and agent on the other side. In summary, it was a complex process and transaction from beginning to end. It is no exaggeration to say that the deal would not have happened without Donna's efforts and practical problem solving on a daily basis. I recommend her to all my closest friends and family. I am forever grateful for her exceptional service." - Ian Sullivan |
